We were given the freedom to create a film with the sole ask of exuding the atmosphere and emotion of being in nature. Considering the short turnaround time for this campaign, we utilized our cinematography hacks to take a limited location selection and turn it into an entire world on film.

The aim of this film focused on the #WelcomeBackToEarth initiative to encourage people to reconnect with the outdoors. Full-blown sprints on wet grass and mud, climbing steep slopes speaks to Salomon’s uncompromised aim at “superior functionality.” Allowing Sophie to express herself with popping Salomon colors and personalized jewelry highlights the brand’s “obsessive in style” nature. The film was a visual ode to the experience of unleashing the best version of ourselves by making the decision to step outside. The hardest part was keeping up with Sophie’s insane speed, but watching her put the XT-6s to the test was quite the sight.

Our shooting schedule consisted of 8 hours total (video + photography). Although tight on time, we created 2 additional supplementary shorts to go along with the main campaign film.

Shot in Northern California at Brionnes Regional Park for its isolated, lush and hilly terrain...and cows.
